To capture summertime memories, head to the Smoky Hill River Festival. From its rockin' stage acts to good eats to the Artyopolis kids' camp, the River Festival is your "gotta be there" summer road-trip destination.

From great live music to rovers and more, River Festival entertainment is worth the trip. Four stages groove Friday through Sunday from 11a.m. on. More than 20 professional touring acts are featured, encompassing rock 'n' roll, bluegrass, alt country, jazz and more. Festival music kicks off with the Festival Jam from 6 to 10 p.m. on Thursday night.

The River Festival's Fine Art and Four Rivers Craft Shows, open Friday through Sunday, invite summer travelers to pull off the road to relax. The Festival's friendly, laid-back ambiance fosters discussion about art, life and more. The two juried shows feature work by nearly 130 talented artists from about 35 states. Mediums include ceramics, wood, sculpture, painting, jewelry, photography and fiber. Surrounding the shows are more than 20 set-in-nature Art Installations commissioned just for the Festival.

Artyopolis challenges children and teens to express themselves and create in an experimental, affirming setting. Game Street, Lego Lane, free make-and-take Creation Crossing projects and the ever-popular face painting at Paintchoo Plaza are all within the Artyopolis city limits. The popular First Treasures young collectors experience is only on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Take a trip down the Festival's Food Row to smell the funnel cakes, fresh-roasted meats and mouth-watering pizza. More than 30 food vendors offer delectable treats ranging from Texas BBQ to Asian delights. Home-cooked bierocks, gumbo, roasted corn and homemade ice cream and more are painstakingly prepared with pride by Festival food providers.
