Showcasing, not only some of the best live music from across the country, but some of Kansas City's best BBQ!

Centered in the heart of historic Paola Town Square, the festival is full of games, art, and entertainment.

The music, which the name suggests, is a combination of deep rooted blues and bluegrass.

The Roots Festival has had the privilege to entertain tens of thousands throughout our 23 year history. Names such as Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Marty Stuart, Grace Potter, Robert Cray, and Chubby Carrier are just to name a few who have blessed us with their talents.

While the music is very good, the food here, could make an argument to be better. The Roots Festival is proud to be held as the annual Eastern Kansas State BBQ Competition. With a field of 30 to 50 of the state's best barbecue teams, you can bet that when you leave you'l be waiting for next year!

Parking is free and can be found within walking distance to the event.
