| Description: | Commemorate the 151st anniversary of Kansas statehood at Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site.. We will offer special educational programs 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Shawnee Indian Mission was one of many missions established as a manual training school. It was attended by boys and girls from Shawnee, Delaware, and other Indian nations from 1839 to 1862. Visit this 12-acre National Historic Landmark and learn the stories of those who lived there. Admission fee is $5 adults, $1 students. Kansas Historical Foundation members and children five and under admitted free.. | |||
