Description: Competition and display of books you can eat so you can "Eat your Words."
Local lovers of art, books, and food are joining forces and talents to hold the 3rd edible book display as part of the International Edible Book Festival, which takes place annually on April 1. Participants create edible books that are exhibited, documented and then consumed. View www.books2eat.com for ideas. Since 2000 the International Edible Book Festival has taken place in countries around the world. Participants create edible books that are exhibited, documented, then consumed. The only rule is to make edible art that has something to do with books as shapes and/or content. Participants should deliver their edible book entries to the Hays Public Library Gallery on Fri., April 4th from 3-5pm and Sat., April 5th from 9-11am. There is no entry fee. Judging will take place Saturday from 11:30am to 12:30pm. The exhibit will be open for public viewing from 1-4pm. Awards will presented at 4pm and eating of the books will take place after the awards are presented until 5pm.
